Since this car is a street car / track car when it came to safety I had to try and keep it so that the car will be functional both on track and off. This can be tricky with OEM SRS equipment.

The 2nd Gen Mini Cooper has a TON of SRS stuff that needs to maintained to keep the SRS system working.

1) Seat Position Sensor (on the OEM seat rails)

2) Side Air Bags (built into the seats)

3) Passenger Weight Sensor (built in the passenger seat)

Decided to get to work on the Brakes since the Suspension is close to being set up for Stock Class.

To improve upon the already awesome OEM Brembos I ordered up some 2pc floating slotted rotors from Disc Brakes Australia



These have just been released and are the only 2pc rotors on the market that work with the JCW's Brembo kit :thumbsup:

Also ordered up some Goodridge Stainless Steel brake lines from Double Down Motorsports

So last Sat I dropped my car off at Riss Racing for some product development. Some of you might have heard of them, but for those of you who havnt they are well know in the BMW 335i market for building some of the highest hp producing parts around. I went with some custom CCW Classic wheels for the Mini project. Wheels are 18x8 +32 offset and I will be running 215/35/18 Hankooks on them. Tires will be in on Wed of this week so for now here are some test fit shots:

So this weekend I picked up the new car in so cal and drove it back to Vegas. I must say this car is surprising everyone that driving it. Its a lot faster then expected and handling is amazing already is stock form. I will do a full write up on the car later, but for now here are the photos:

Like Ryan ... I will be building a project but this time it will be FWD. OMG FWD! yea I know I my self am surprised I got a FWD car, however after driving this car it totally changed my mind about it. Previously when I first got into track days with my past Evo IX I found that stock to stock some Mini Cooper S platforms where keeping up with me just fine.
