We have about 2 feet of snow at the moment - but I live south/east in Norway - only about 1 hour from Oslo so this is as cold as it get here. Of course all the way up North it gets colder, and is not unusuall with up to 15-20 feet of snow
Sounds like North Dakota is much similar with the north of Norway.

How's the racing scene out there?

It is getting better. Since we only have 3 tracks and 2 of them are in the south it has been limited. What is pretty big is just regular track days, where people bring out their DD. But there is a Time Attack series incorperated with some track days where we run, and than for 2010 I will try out a few rounds in a "new" GT series that started only 2 years ago, that is growing into a really good series. In GT1 and GT2 class pretty much anything goes recarding hp, and build. There are very strict rules with the safty, same as top racing series around the world.
So I will be trying out in Time Attack and the GT2 series this year.
What is quite fun is that the Time Attack series goes under a track day company called Gatebil (Street car) and the biggest weekend there is approx. 40 000 people attending, so you get a really big crowd to race in front of wich is really fun.
We got some crazy cars in these series.
Audi S2 Quattro - 7-800hp
Audi S4 - 500hp
Audi S1 Replica - more then 1000hp
Audi S2 Quattro - 800hp
Toyota Supra - 600hp
Audi A3 - 600hp
Nissan Skyline GTR - 750hp
Nissan Skyline GTR - 700hp
Nissan Skyline GTR - 650hp
These are a few of the cars - the Nissan Skylines and the Audis are the dominating cars in the series in 2009 - hopfully I can do something with that with my Subaru
If you want to see more of the other cars (lot of great cars) have a look here -
