Is that as cold as it'll get there or will you see worse? Where I went to college (North Dakota) we saw between -30 and -40 F on a regular basis, and add 25 mph wind to that, I saw windchills of -70 at times.

Ever see somebody throw water in the air and have it freeze in an icicle? Yeah that's when you know it's cold.

It's been okay in Wisconsin lately. What I found odd was that when I left single-digit temperatures to visit Seattle, they had record lows at 15 degrees. Maybe it was the air or something, but it felt MUCH colder there than the 0 degrees back home.

It doesn't bother me too much though, maybe it's my nordic heritage, haha.

What part of Norway are you in, Lars? How's the racing scene out there?

We have about 2 feet of snow at the moment - but I live south/east in Norway - only about 1 hour from Oslo so this is as cold as it get here. Of course all the way up North it gets colder, and is not unusuall with up to 15-20 feet of snow

Sounds like North Dakota is much similar with the north of Norway.

It is getting better. Since we only have 3 tracks and 2 of them are in the south it has been limited. What is pretty big is just regular track days, where people bring out their DD. But there is a Time Attack series incorperated with some track days where we run, and than for 2010 I will try out a few rounds in a "new" GT series that started only 2 years ago, that is growing into a really good series. In GT1 and GT2 class pretty much anything goes recarding hp, and build. There are very strict rules with the safty, same as top racing series around the world.

So I will be trying out in Time Attack and the GT2 series this year.

What is quite fun is that the Time Attack series goes under a track day company called Gatebil (Street car) and the biggest weekend there is approx. 40 000 people attending, so you get a really big crowd to race in front of wich is really fun.

We got some crazy cars in these series.

Audi S2 Quattro - 7-800hp

Audi S4 - 500hp

Audi S1 Replica - more then 1000hp

Audi S2 Quattro - 800hp

Toyota Supra - 600hp

Audi A3 - 600hp

Nissan Skyline GTR - 750hp

Nissan Skyline GTR - 700hp

Nissan Skyline GTR - 650hp

These are a few of the cars - the Nissan Skylines and the Audis are the dominating cars in the series in 2009 - hopfully I can do something with that with my Subaru

If you want to see more of the other cars (lot of great cars) have a look here - Gatebil

Oh really? Yeah I got an e-mail a few days ago that it was finished now, just waiting for the clear coating to cure, but I have only seen the drawing of it yet so I am really looking forward to seeing the result.

Hahaha yes, I know this guy pretty good, and he is a drag car builder, that is what he is good at, so I belive he got about 1100hp in this car when we does drag racing.

But as 95% of all drivers in Norway they think that HP is the key to fast laps, so when he build this car he build it as a drag car, but just put on some H&R Street Coilovers and then he thinks he is good to go.

It is lightning fast down the straight, but he has to brake early because of small brakes, and then can't really go fast in the turns since he don't have the suspension to handle it.

The Norwegian scene has a lot to learn from foreign racing series when it comes to brakes, suspension, set up and so on. Engine we are good at, but as I said everybody thinks it is the hp that wins the race.

That's where I hope to beat them, and I have learned quite a bit here at this forum

Happy New Year Everybody
