buying the Z is a valid point but as for your car...

weight and tires are the only factors to a racecar that will affect every other dynamic aspect of the car!!
so shave weight where you can for what's legal for your class, which I imagine will be street and some good tires.

yea thats all im going to focus on is weight and suspension. Im shaving every little weight i can but still keeping the car as a dd is tough. the trunk will be cleared and the tires and wheels will be upgraded, along with suspension.

If you're removing the fog lights, try and turn those holes into brake ducts . Don't know if you need them, but its better than just having holes in your bumper.

if you really want a die hard track car (if that's the direction you are headed), I'd suggest buying one...as I know that the tear between track and DD is a tough one...also when you have to worry about wrecking your DD. Picking up a cheap, old RWD anything (toyota, nissan, mazda, etc..) isn't hard to do. Hell, I just picked up an AWD 96 impreza coupe for $900 down in Raleigh...food for thought

I know my DD lost the battle and I decided the subie would just be the track toy...the new DD is the toy hauler

As for the brake ducting...3" brake ducting would fit right up and its the common industry size. You will need to make tubed section for it to clamp onto...go ghetto and hit up home depot for parts

thanks for the info, i have a 98 gti at home but it isnt running right now, this car is just a fun dd car, along with some auto-x and maybe some track here and there. Its not going to be a diehard track car, seeing that im still in school and stuff i can only do so much. Its not goign to be anything special just a fun race/dd car thats all..
