))) Time Attack In South Africa (((

Hi Guys

HI from here is South Africa again.

We got some good news , we will soon be starting Time Attack for the FIRST time in South Africa.

I have been in talks with the guys that run a race track called Killarney in my home town , Cape Town. They are all for the event and are really excited to get it going.

Will keep you guys updated as we go , im working on all the details and sponsors etc , looking forward to hosting the event at the end of the year.

Any guys from overseas wanna get involved in the first ever time attack event in South Africa ? the bigger the better !

When is the event?

I'll be in Joburg, Cape Town and Durban from June - July and would be really interested in checking it out.

I'll be there for the world cup and then I'm getting married mid-July. My wife's originally from Joburg and I'll be spending some time with family while I'm out there. Was curious about checking out the scene while I was down there and possibly even seeing if I could log some seat time at a track or two. I believe my future brother in law has a few cars that he's built over there, and I'm super curious to see what they're like. I can't wait to visit!

That'd be a blast! I'll be sure to drop you a line.

I started driving by doing a handful of track days from 03-05 running the DC5 in pretty much stock form. I then built it up with my buddy Greg with GT Motoring in '06 and started with my first time attack event with Redline in '07. The car hasn't changed much at all since then as I've been working on driving (it's much cheaper anyway) and I probably won't do much to it until next year after the trip and the wedding. Either way though, I've been having TONS of fun doing it.

Here's a video from our '09 seson...yes, I know it's poorly made haha:

no worries bro , you going to love South Africa , especially cape town.

thats cool bro , so you got some race experience under the belt , nice ! car looks wicked , love the graphics on it.

we dont have to may DC5's in South africa , but we do have a black one in our club. i recently started doing track days with the yaris , and im planing on doing alot more to it , but for now its a daily driver aswell , so i go as hard as i can.

you must have quite a spec sheet for your DC5 ?

would be great if you guys could join us this side for a international time attack event !
