Check out the photo coverage by Budski Photography of the 2009 Autohahn Country Club Time Attack Coverage right here in this thread.
"Thats right, I've made it! 6hrs of driving with no AC wasn't too bad, there is a shower with my name on it. Its raining, hard and a lot. Spend my first 20min here dodging flying trashcans while trying to find both a WIFI signal and 3G... seems Im not allowed both. Only a handful of cars here so far, so I'll wait a bit longer before wondering out to take photos. Till then here are a few iphone shots..."
Gotta love how flat IL is!
made it to Autobahn Country club
Dodged that one, it was funny to watch everything go from one side of the track to the other
The smell of race fuel in the morning
ok well maybe not race fuel yet, but after putting up with the rain all day yesterday we managed to get ourselves an amazing morning. It's 8AM, so I figured I would share a few shots of what has come in so far, but lets first start out with last night.
As you can see I got my home away from home setup for the weekend
and a few cars already here...
camp all set up, even got to enjoy tasty brats before bed.
So, after to being woken up to diesel trucks rolling by I crawled out and caught a few as they were unloading...
well lunch has come and gone (best track food I've had so far), so it gave me a little time to get a few more photos loaded. The racing has been going great with no one having any serious problems, but instead getting the cars dialed in for tomorrow. It would seem the only problem so far is finding a place to shoot with Autobahn's un-spectator friendly layout, but no fear because I did manage to find another good use for my camper top and it does hold my weight just fine.
it seemed there was a small crowd around when AMS showed up with their new Evo X that many of us have been watching them build.
Crawford showed up with Ken Blocks new STi! Doubtful I'm still holding my breath that they at least take it for one lap
Few more track photos...
being eaten alive here
well lesson learned, bug come out after sundown. So very short post for tonight before I head off again to walmart for bug spray.
the day came to an end with just about all cars intact, seems one vette just barley kissed the tire wall. so a few photos from today...
if you notice crawford decided to sport a new wing... guess what its from?
Elterman out getting the Takata Time Attack STi dialed in
I still cant get over the crazy aero on this car, seeing it barrel down the track towards you is a sight you'll just have to see yourselves
Ptuning's TC seemed to be dialed in right off the bat, Dirver Ross seemed very happy with the car and cant wait to start pushing it tomorrow
the mostly looking stock forged performance GTR was very impressive, I'll have to look into what he's got going on with it.
and of course Ryan Gates recent mag cover Evo X was out today too, I talked briefly with him and he seemed very happy with the car. I'm sure we'll all be looking forward to how he performs tomorrow.
this one want apart of RTA but was worth photographing
One Post Before The Rain
super busy day trying to keep up with everything, but with the rain coming I had to pack up the gear early so no photos till I'm back in St Louis tonight. BUT I do have a few Iphone shots for you guys...
