Long Beach...new here

New here, not new to Time Attack or cars. I had a good day after the last time attack with the GT-R guys.

1994 Nissan Skyline GT-R . Toyo T1R tires.

I am thinking of bringing it out to Willow for the next event. Can I run it in the street tires class ? It still has the stock airbox on it. A/C , all the windows. Its only an old Nissan...

Sean welcome ... depending on what tires your on (if you stay on the T1R) Im sure you can run street class.

The car was on Toyo T1R for the last little thing I did. It has some upgrades though. Turbos and things. It would probably fit the modified class a little better. Its not going to be any threat to any of the faster cars, but it should be fun.

I think in all honesty you car would still fit under Street class rules, however I think the GTR like the Turbo Porsche is auto bumped to Modified ... Can anyone else verify?

i know in previous years they were. I also remember them being their because they were not previously sold in the US (pre R35)

Its not the motor mods that bumps you out of street. You need a cat, basic shocks (2-way max), UTQG140 or higher rated tires, etc.
Check out the Redline rules for a more complete set of rules.

Welcome, I have a lot of family in the Long Beach area. :-)

I am under the impression that all GTR's are classified as "super cars" and are only allowed to be in Mod. class and Unl. Just like the Corvette Z06's, some porsche's, etc.

Sean did you have any connection to Igor Sushko's R34 other than being his crew chief or whatever when he ran WCGT? Was wondering if there was a way you could get that thing out to some events, especially since he's running in Japan.

Or does he even still have it since he's over there...
