I was talking to the Tomei guys at PRI for quite some length. They said they aren't sure if the car will be racing many events this year. Atleast east coast that is, from what they tell me they don't have the budget to travel east.
So I guess that means you west coast boys will have to run them.

Awesome! Maybe they can view for the vaunted "Fastest Japanese-built Subaru Time Attack Car That Might Not Compete on the East Coast" title.
I've heard they're also building a new STI in America so they can go after the "Fastest US-built Subaru Time Attack Car" title. That's the most prized of them all!

No, I have the most coveted prize of them all. It's called:
"The best silver colored Japanese built car that is rebuilt in America by a Jewish tuner with a Mexican mechanic while pit-crewed by a Polak and driven by a Swiss guy".....

That's awesome! I think we need to establish the 'Entrant's Trophy.' It gets awarded each event to our 'friend' that likes to make up their own records (and then award it to themselves).
For the price of a $20 plastic trophy, I bet we can come up with a ton of faux awards to give them.

I wonder where Rolex slicks fall speed wise compared to the slicks being approved for next season. Be interesting to see how they change the car.

In terms of grip, you'll want anything BUT the Rolex slicks. Those are built to last a long time and in every type of climate. That's the opposite of what fast TA lap times need in the current slick tire plan. Until qualifying slicks are banned, these are a bad choice.

^^^ True dat!
Think of the Rolex hoosiers as a spec slick tire that doesnt have to compete with any other brands. Even their sizing is way off compared to similarly marked tires. They dont have to be particularly fast, just reliable and available.
I would guess them to be similar to a decent R comp but one that needs more heat than typical R tires do to work well.
As MPME said, they would not be great TA Unl tires at all. Then again, there is no reason that the mentioned 350Z team would even want to run them anyway, especially with the bizare tire deals/contracts made within the GA series. I bet they would love to have better choices in slicks.

Yeah I figured they'd be more endurance oriented, but I'd never heard them compared to other tires...Mainly I was wondering about an estimation as to how much faster they'd be on the approved quali compound slicks next year compared to the Pirellis, or even the Hoosiers since I don't the car has ever even been run on the Pirellis.
Even comparing rolex slicks to A6/C91 etc time wise because those are what have been used to set the unlimited bar to this point.
Basically I'm just trying to get a better guess of how it'll stack up against current cars, even in Rolex power/weight trim, once it gets comparable tires.
