Yeah, if the perennially strong Mod AWD teams want to have a shot at the Championship this year, (Crawford, Evasive, etc.), they're going to need to make it to the next two events on the West Coast and then 2 of the East Coast events. Right now, MFQ has a HUGE lead and can cruise to a Season victory just finishing 3rd-6th at the next two events if none of the other teams take this seriously enough. Hats off to MFQ!

so how do the over all championships work? will there be individual overall champs for just unlimited, mod, and street? or will there be division champs as well? I need a couple more events before I can challenge the AWD cars in mod with a rwd car.

At the end of the season we will have 9 Division Champions, 3 Class Champions and one Grand Champion.
Each Division Champion within a Class, will have their points totals, head-to-head matchups, bonus round points, etc used to determine the overall Class Champion. So in a sense, you are competing with the AWD and FWD cars in Modified, based on how well you do overall. Head-to-Head victories is a tie-breaker rule, but it is not the top rule.
Then, each Class Champion (Street, Mod, Unl) will be compared to one another, to determine the Overall Grand Champion... So it could very well be a Street Class or Mod Class car that wins the Grand Championship this season, based on how thoroughly they dominated their respective Class, how many events they attended, how well they did in their respective bonus rounds, etc.

So I understand the 9 divisions, but now I am a little confused. So are there any extra points awarded for an overall class or event win? For example will Top Speed get any more points towards the Overall Champion for winning the Overall event at Gateway or does it only matter how you score in your division?

There are no bonus points given for an overall Class or Event victory.
In the end, what we want to do, is award the Overall Grand Champion to the team/driver that had the absolute best performance in their respective division, who through consistency, determination and effort, dominated their Division/Class. Some of the fiercest battles dont take place in Unlimited, they take place in Mod or Street....
So the team/driver that wins the overall Season, may not set any fastest lap records overall (they may set Class/Division records, sure).. but they will be the team that had the best performance overall in their respective Class/Division, and they are, of the 3 Class CHampions, the Grand Champion of the three...

Hey Nik what if both unlimited and street class champions have the same amount of points at the end of the year? From what I understand you award the points for your 4 best events. So what if at the end of the year you have two teams that won their class in 4 events?
How would you choose the Grand Champion then?

There are a number of tie-breaker scenarios for determining the overall Grand Champion...
Cuz say you guys win 4 events, and get 120 points.. and then win the Bonus round at GTLive for another 7... for a total of 127..
If the Street Class overall Champ also has 120 points, but say fails to do well in the Bonus Round (or not compete in one at all), then you would end up winning.
Or even if after all the points were added, and you both had 127 points, there are other tie breakers... most 1st place finishes in your respective Division... and even taking events outside of your top 4 into account.. so attending more than 4 events could come into play in a tie breaker scenario...
