2010 Rules - Section 4, Street Tire Class

http://www.RedlineTrackEvents.com/ru...treet tire.doc

We will be reviewing the comments left here in this thread, and comments we receive via email or telephone. We will not respond to each question individually, as they are posted, that would simply be too time consuming. We will respond "in bulk" once Jackson and I have had a chance to review the comments and discuss them.

December 28th, 2009 Update:

Door glass must be functional has to be clarified... Does that mean clear? Keep rain out? Or Roll up and down?

4-3.2 Rear under tray is not permitted to extend forward of the rear axe3l centerline.

Does 4-6.2 (OEM suspension pickup point) mean that a modified ball joint that relocates the ball at the wheel hub is out (ala the WRX roll center kit from Whiteline)? Usually "pickup points" means the connection at the chassis end of the suspension arm.

The 4" clearance rule- does this include stuff like exhaust pipes? It is very hard to maintain edge-to-edge 4" clearance and still run typical 3" exhaust pipes. I assume stuff that moves like hubs and suspension arms don't count.

Agreed with caveguru^

Should say OEM mounting points cannot be changed.

are removal/replacement of bumper beams allowed as in for installation of front mount intercoolers or just for weight savings?

4-8 Safety (how I read it):

If you don't have a cage then you will probably die upon impact and fireproof gear is moot.

If you have a cage, then you will probably survive and be burning alive, so better get some fireproof gear.

I wear a firesuit, but I don't understand this rule. It sounds goofy.

4 inch rule--equally goofy

edit: to be constructive instead of funny, I would say that if a 6 point cage with door bars are used, you must use padding anywhere the driver can touch the bars.

4-1.6 Exhaust must exit behind the front axel

4-3.1 Front under tray is not permitted to extend rearward of the front axel centerline.

4-3.4 Miscellaneous OEM filler panels and fairings are allowed to remain in place as originally installed between the axels.

Not fond of that word are we?

Still need a cat and that wouldn't be good with leaded fuel.
