eBay will kill all the listings from that seller.
And if that seller continues trying to sell their junk, eBay will suspend them.

But it take effort on the part of the people who are selling the real deal.

HKS does it.
APEX does it.
BRIDE chooses to ignor the problem.

So how about it JamesE ??
IIRC Bride Japan tried to do something about the counterfeits but apparently the company that are making the knockoffs legally trademarked Bride in Taiwan. I'm not sure if this went to court but apparently Bride Japan gave up on it. But whatever, I'm a Recaro fan myself.

can you explain the differences people should be looking for in these pictures? i looked at the second picture, and an obvious difference i noticed was the company name tag. but the name tag shown on the fake side was used on some Takata harnesses (older ones perhaps?). The difference in that picture seems to be on the number of X stitches.

Speaking of the BRIDE of Taiwan...

I saw them on Ebay and was looking at them very cloesley in comparison to the TEEs Corp seats and was shocked at how close of a replica they are!

Is there a possibilty to do a similar post for the seats, I want to buy a set and want to make sure I don't get ripped off (on or off Ebay)...

I just spent 5 weeks in Zhuhai, China. You would not believe how they knock everything off. I mean everything and it is very difficult to tell the difference. I could walk into a store and buy two versions of anything. From iphones, and Sony DSC cameras, to BMW X-5's. Electronics, Car parts, clothes, household appliances, handbags, watches, movies, anything.

I could purchase a (EXAMPLE) discounted Takata harness-"NO WARRANTY"-negotiable price-counterfeit. I could also purchase a full price-"WARANTY"-non negotiable-probably counterfeit also.

Its hard to control these companies as they are making millions of dollars on someone elses r&d and marketing.

their government and culture encourages it. they do not honor the concept of patents in any way, as they believe that making cheaper imitations is progress.

Fake parts

I really don't see what the problem is. Just don't buy them of the e-bay, go to a registered shop/web shop of one of the dealers listed on the Takata web site then you are sure what you get.

They cost about usd400,- no matter where you look, so you can not get them for like half price. If they are half price then they are fakes.

If you guys want to have the fake parts removed from the marked, then just buy the original parts and the problem is solved.

I feel sometime people want the real deal at fake price, and that is just not possible.

In Norway we don't have that of a big problem with fake parts, but people are openly buying china crap parts for their cars and are open and proud of how little they pay. They are f...ing insane.

People are like "I put 30 000 USD in my engine, but buy cheap Taiwan brakes for 600usd." Not excatly the parts I want to save on...

Keep up the good work guys.

Best Regards

Lars
