We will be doing a Rotary Engine swap into our Miata and hope to have it ready for the 2010 SLB next year & also enter some RTA events. We will keep it n/a for now with a target goal of about 280 whp w/ a semi-PP. We already have the 13B Motor. I will be building the Motor with Raul Rodriguez and I will update with pics. It will not be an overnight project but I can tell you that it is a easy swap from experience. We will be running RTA Modified and SLB Limited.

No matter what you do to a BP Miata Motor I personally believe that it cannot run with a S2000 on a bigger track which is in my class. The n/a AP1 S2000 has lapped BWCW13 Limited/SLB in 1:54 and I believe that the S2000 can go much faster after seeing what the BC S2000 lapped. I was able to pick up a FC RX7 where a kid couldn't start it . Took me about 10 minutes to start it and even though it ran good it had 100K on the motor so will rebuild that. There are those that are doing the LS1 swap in a Miata but the Rotary is much more suited for a lightweight roadster.

Sounds like your on the right path mate! Keep it up! Get the rotors beveled, and use the RX8 Eshaft I'm putting on together now for a customer....its cheap and effective way to lighten your assembly. If you wanna make good power....u gotta rev it to 9-10K and it will be cherry! Keep on trucking!

We have the capabilities to lighten the Rotors. On paper the Rotary Miata should be fast but I stay on the cautious side because when we put a SC on the Miata we should have been fast but we actually were much much slower than n/a. The Miata is not all about peak HP but usable HP. We still don't want to lose that tight smaller track performance and be able to pull faster on the bigger straight HP course. Semi-PP looks like the way to go. We will be testing on some east coast tracks & Sebring is the closest and I want to get it out to the West coast after that.

Good call on staying n/a. Heat will be your worst enemy. Air charging amplifies this issue. Please post your cooling plans for the 13B n/a.
