Speed Ventures Competition?
Huh, has anyone checked out the new rules posted on their site? Are they for real? And released 3/9/12 for 3/11/12 race?
All I've gotta say is, "crack is wack"!

It was kinda confusing for me with the points thing. But I get it a little more now. I'll be at the next event March 31st SOW.

LOL, yeah, I get it more now too! They should have, at the very least, move the event up a few weeks so the people could catch up to their system-not have the event 3-4 days AFTER posting the rules.
LOL, I'm thinking I'll just show up and let them sort out where to place my car! Hey, I've got kids to raise. Don't have time for the jibba jabba!

Yeah it's kinda confusing at first but it actually works really well. To dumb it down a little: you choose your base class from the list of cars first, then you go over to the Mods part and select all your mods, you add all the points up from the mods and every 3 points moves you up a class. I started in BC6, got 6.5 points which put me in CC4 class at round one in Buttonwillow. Now in my case this totally sucked because I had points left which placed me at the bottom of the class but there was no way to prepare for this. Anyway, I think the system is good , maybe needs a little work but Aaron and the gang are totally open to suggestions so show up and speak up, or stay home and shut up
See you guys at Streets

LOL, "so show up and speak up, or stay home and shut up". Well, I guess you can look at it that way, but there's no way I would have shown up for the first round not knowing the rules, Attila.
You said you had points left. I'm assuming that's the same as points that should have been deducted in the grand scheme of things maybe moving you into a different class. Don't understand why you couldn't prep for this? Like I said, i'd show up for the next round and let em' sort it out.

Points left meaning: every 3 points bumps you a class as I said so 3 point would have put me in cc5 , 6 points would be cc4 , 9points cc3, this is all in my case because I start from BC6. 6.5 points means I have 2 points worth of mods left without jumping into the next class. for example, I could have ran Hoosiers or Hankook z214-s instead of nt01-s and stayed in the same class but I didn't know about the rules and the point system I just showed up to do my best as always and trusted whatever rules they came up with and it didn't turn out bad at all, could have been better if I prepped but better than just doing a track day.

Anyone have info regarding more points events for 2012? Don't see anything scheduled.

The only thing i don't like about the rules is, no deduction of points for rollbar or cage. Points are assesed for 3 stages of weight reduction, but nothing if you put weight back into the car in the name of safety.
