What brake pads do you use and why?
Hey,
I have run a set with JUN Auto big brakes this season in Norway, that is based on Brembo calipers - 6-pot front and 4-pot rear with 368mm disc front and 360mm rear.
I also use a Wilwood pedal box.
Very happy with the brakes, no fade what so ever, even after 10-15 hard rounds of racing, and I have only had lock up once I think, but I would like some more grip in the pads, since I have to brake earlier than what I would like and expected.
So my question is what do you guys use/recommend and why?
I am considering Pagid RS14 or RS15.

Does your pedal feel firm enough? Poss too firm? A change to different size masters (smaller) may help if you allready have a really firm pedal. You may loose some pedal firmness but you will gain power, control and feel.
I have been using some prototype pads this season with some unbelievable results. I will let the info out as soon as I am allowed.

ive used both the pagid RS 4-2 "blue" and the pagid RS 4-4 "orange" with my brembo front brake kit on my focus. The orange did have better initial bite and have a higher maximum operating temp then the blue(930 F compared to 1050 F) but theirs a significant difference in rotor ware. the orange's eat rotors ALOT faster, so in my case, the SLIGHT decrease in performance is worth it in the name of longer rotor life. For the record though, in my application, ive NEVER run into actual brake fade with the blues( even under back to back half hour run seesions at track events)

Hi,
the pedal feels fine, and if I just push hard enough I will lock up the wheels, it is more that I feel the pads that comes with the kit is hard to controll with good grip and lock up. So I tend to brake earlier than what I want.
Let me know the pads on the info when they are avalible.
Ok, I was thinking of the RS14 or 15, since this is all racing and it is not that big of concern with the rotor wear, I will sacrifice some rotors if that makes me brake later and take the win.

i was just giving my input, and yes im concerned about rotor ware on my time attack focus because brembo 2 piece rotors arent cheap

Oh I understand that just fine. Didn't meen anything wrong with it. Just saying I want the best for my setup. i thought maybe you used the car on the streets sometimes - seems like it is more easy to get away with "upgraded" cars on the streets in the US than here in Norway.

Performance Friction Brakes (PFC) 01, 03, 06, 97 compound pads.
Because they have a great bite and one of the best brake-release characteristics of any pad out there. These pads have also won the 24-hour of Daytona for the past 4-5-6 years in a row or more as well as Champ Car, NASCAR, JGTC, etc... championships and more.
For a GREAT street/track pad, the PFC "Z-rated" is a great trackable street pad.

billy, by any chance would you know that maximum operating temp on the pfc z-rated pads?

I'll find out for ya.
What car and what's the intended use?
Check out our PFC Z-Rated calipers that we use on our FXMD Unlimited Classed NSX. Forged Monoblock, Multi-pad technology (4 piston caliper with 1 brake pad per piston). These things are truly amazing and have modulation characteristics that you have to feel to believe. We use the 01 Race compound for our track car:

I am using Endless PC-35's atm on the front as they work well with the Performance Friction rotors on my evo 6. On the rear I use some Elig street pads. The evo brake bias is massively to the front so the rear does not phase me much.
