For sure. As a brilliant engineer, Grand Am team owner and badass driver, he would definitely show a lot of time attack teams up.

When Mazda was gonna do the original $10k payout for the 2008 Formula X event, Mike was gonna bring Cat Dog out...but we all know how that story played out.

yea, I have a feeling if someone were to put some money up, we'd see a LOT of cars out there that have never run time attack. I was trying to get a few corvettes out to Autobahn, but i guess they decided it was not worth their time.

That car is easily 3-4 seconds a lap faster on any track then our fastest time attack cars.

oh yes.... there are a LOT of cars like that out there.... problem is getting them to the track. Most don't see this as serious racing, nor is there fan/client/sponsor base in the market.

yup. without motivation ($$) or an attractive media package, many road racing teams aren't willing to come out to an event like RTA just to do 3 hot laps.

in Japan, there are a few companies that run in Super Taikyu & SuperGT who also run time attack programs to help further develop performance mods to sell to their street customers, as well as for pride of being the best shop around.

but with the national championships now in place, i see RTA being even better in the future. sorta like NASA with their TT national championships, but with better exposure.

Its the peoples champ!!

Thats what I call Mike anyway. The orange car is quick for sure and he may bring it out eventually. Mike is a man of many projects so getting out to a T/A can hit the back burner. If you want to see it run, come by a local PCA race. Its a pretty impressive machine.
